The Roots

For years, I dreamed of living on a farm. Weary of my typical, comfortable, suburban lifestyle in the tropical north of Australia, I yearned for country views, cooler weather and a gorgeous house full of character. A place where I could grow heirloom vegetables, raise some animals, create a beautiful home and grow all kinds of flowers. With very little practical experience and even less money, I persuaded my husband to throw caution to the wind and impulsively we packed up our belongings to move over 3000 km away to live in a 100 year old Queenslander on acreage. Our journey has been (literally) an uphill one and we have made many mistakes along the way.

This website is for all the other dreamers out there seeking inspiration, help, or advice. These are our experiences, lessons learnt, joyful moments, thoughts and curious wonderings about life, family and our society.
